Hi I’m a sophomore and I’m wondering how likely I am to get accepted

Academics:
Current GPA is 3.95 unweighted but as a freshman it was a 3.2 (I lacked work ethic and the will to excel but that’s changed)
Currently take Ap world history and plan to take take AP psych, AP chem (double credit), and AP us history next year and plan to take even more AP classes senior year
1150 psat score

Sports:
Freshman soccer (I stopped playing to focus on wrestling and work)
Varsity wrestling freshman and sophomore year
All academic freshman and sophomore year
All conference sophomore year
I also wrestle in the offseason

Extra curricular:
I work part time at a garden store working about 17 hours a week
I plan to join NHS and young men’s leadership group next year

Also, it’s important to note that my dad was a disabled veteran that died of service related reasons.

I’d say try to get involved in more extracurriculars and leadership roles. focus heavily on math and sciences in your junior/senior year.

3.95 is great—maintain that.

1150 isn’t great. At minimum, try to go above 650 for each section on the SAT—above 700 to stand out.

Maintain great relationships with your teachers to write rec letters and evaluations.

I’d like to thank your dad for his service. If I’m not mistaken, i think that makes u eligible to apply for president nom.

Remember that the PSAT is a different animal than the SAT- sometimes easier, sometimes harder both in different areas. Also, if SAT doesn't seem to be your jam, give the ACT a whack- it seems like everyone has a test that fits them better.

Other advice, just try to be the most well-rounded person you can be and always be leading.

Finally, try not to focus your whole existence on joining an Academy- you only get to be a kid once, take time to try and enjoy this part of your life. Create some memories, be dorky, be outgoing, be loving, play- be the kind of person people WANT TO BE AROUND. Sure, you can be Mr/Ms Academics, but that can make for a boring person- from what I can tell, the Academies are looking for folks who are great in other ways, too.

Be the best you and, one way or another, the world will be your oyster!
