My application is complete and I am eagerly awaiting a decision from VMI. VMI is my first choice and I, like most applicants, am very nervous. The wait is killing me! Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.9 (weighted)
Class Rank: 92/591 (Top 15%)
SAT: 1770 composite; 580 Reading, 560 Math, 630 Writing (If writing matters)

Athletics: Football (3 varsity letters), Track (1 varsity letter), Powerlifting

Non-Athletic Activities: Young Marines, National Honor Society, Visual Arts Scholastic Event (2x participant), Calculus Club, Student Ministry, 100+ community service hours

Leadership Positions/Seminars: Varsity Football Captain, 2013 USMC Summer Leadership & Character Development Academy

Awards: 2nd Team Academic All-State (2013), Academic All-District (2011 and 2013), Honorable Mention All-District (Football), Falcon Football Leadership Award

I also visited VMI this past December and was interviewed by an Alum.

Any feedback is appreciated! Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

you look like a strong candidate to me

have you gone to Lexington or interviewed with an Alum?

making that effort (and yes, showing you are committed enough to spend the $$$) would be important to demonstrate your desire

good luck!

VMI82,

I did travel to Lexington (also interviewed with an Alum). It was great!

Your stats are much better than my DS's and he was accepted w/i three weeks of completing his application. He did not interview there, either (or actually have any contact with anyone there).

Congratulations!

You should have no problem getting in. Hope we can become Brother Rats!

Thanks guys, I should be receiving a decision from the Institute sometime next week. Hope to join you in the Ratline!

Just a quick update:

I received my Offer of Appointment from VMI today! :shake: I can't wait to join my brother rats in Lexington this summer!

Congratulations! You won't regret your decision! Just hang I'm there when times get tough (and they will!), and remember the outcome will be worth it all!
