For AFROTC scholarship recipients are you bounded to your major? Or do you have some flexibility to change once you’re in college? I’ve asked my recruiter but couldn’t get a straight answer.

They want STEM majors. Assuming that you were awarded the scholarship based on a STEM major, you would likely be allowed to switch from a STEM major to another STEM major, as an example, from electrical engineering to aerospace engineering. You would most likely NOT be allowed to switch from EE to political science or criminology. Needs of the Air Force. Nothing guaranteed.

I think it will depend on your starting point. I don't believe AFROTC has specific major requirements however STEM and Foreign Languages are preferred. If you have a major outside of those two areas, changing into those areas is probably "pretty easy". Moving within those two areas is possible but will require some effort. Moving out of those two areas, while not impossible, will be difficult. However your major can be a choice you make for your life. Many people on this forum are in careers because of the sunk cost of school majors and early life choices, take advantage of your youth. If this is important to you then be sure to explore your options.

This depends on your award - if it was awarded for any major or for a STEM major for instance. You would need detachment permission to change your major outside of the parameters.
