Citadel Forms?

Glad to see The Citadel keeping up with Norwich and A&M - This should be a huge recruitment tool for El Cid. I loved my time in Northfield - but Charleston and now R&B covered - no brainer. Well done Citadel!
We're in the northeast and my son I think is leaning toward Norwich. Not sure if this will change his mind any if he gets an AROTC scholarship. The free room and board is huge. Also I think I read that they are paying your 1st year if you get a 3 year. That's incredible.

Saw this tonight which may be of interest to you….
I saw this in my portal! It's an interesting concept to attract more potential cadets!

Yes because that is definitely a factor when the other schools my son is considering provide free room and board.
The Citadel announcement says cadets who enroll with 3 year ROTC scholarships will be offered 1st year tuition as an incentive - in addition to Room & Board. If you are out of state this is a significant savings as tuition for non-SC residents is more than $36K. See website:

“Additionally, because some ROTC Scholarships cover only three years of tuition, The Citadel Service to Country Scholarship 2026 will cover tuition and fees for that gap year for accepted ROTC Scholarship freshmen, representing as much as $36,400 savings per student. Combined with the room and board funding, that represents a potential savings of about $68,000 over four years for those individuals.”
