Hey I am 99% going to attend the Citadel next year and hopefully with an NROTC Scholarship if I end up getting it (I'm a high school senior right now) but I probably will be applying to USNA next year after Knob year.
So I was going to apply to USNA but when I looked at the website I ended up not finishing my application there because I thought I started too late to apply and stuff because I decided right at the end of junior year. So basically I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me so that I can do everything right.
Also I didn't know if I should put this here or in the USNA section so I hope this is okay. Thank you guys!!!

There are certainly cadets from SMCs who apply to federal service academies. If this is where your desire is - make sure you pay attention to timelines and talk with your academy contact. I would definitely check the USNA forum on this site - several individuals have the some of the same questions you have. One thing though - service academies won't tell you how to everything right. They expect you to find this out on your own initiative. Good luck to you.

Tiki, You need to have a plan for your USNA application and have everything submitted or ready to submit before you report for Knob year--maybe except for that essay in which you talk about how much you have learned about service and your dedication to attending USNA and serving as a Naval Officer--and learning about time management as a Knob at the Citadel. (You might want to submit that over fall break). But also, have everything submitted to your senators and congressman. Have all of your SAT/ACT scores and transcripts sent. If you think it is a challenge to apply to college from home, it will be harder when you are a Knob. Not impossible...just harder because you will be v. busy. So, make a plan and stick to it. Good luck!

Ensure you look at the "college applicants" sections on USNA Admissions pages. That tells you about what courses you are expected to take to mirror Plebe year, and other key info.

Start now to make your timeline and milestone action plan as noted by DrMom. You will be able to update Citadel grades later on.
