Civil Prep and new portal

DS has received AOG scholarship and will be going to GMC. The portal has opened for class of 2027 submissions and he is unsure if he can reuse the same candidate statement essays. The questions are the exactly the same - thoughts?

Same essay responses >>> readers might jump to the conclusion he has no new insights, experiences, perspectives, new growth and maturity to draw on, especially from the viewpoint of a re-applicant who will be away from home in a military college environment facing new challenges. No rush to get those done right now, as long as they are in by deadline or a month or so before. USMA will wait to see how he does in prep school and on any standardized exam re-takes anyway; prep appointments are usually seen in late spring.

Of course, he has to do whatever is required for new nom applications, but surely he can work in how he is dealing with re-application challenge, change up those essays too.

He is not the same as he was a year ago this time. IMHO, his essays should reflect that.

Glad he has that AOG prep scholarship - best wishes for grabbing onto that and riding it to an appointment.
 
I do not think it would be wise to use the same essays, rather draw on his experience of determination of a civil prep program to give him the best opportunity to follow his dream.
