Nice find! I heard there was some debate over whether to issue Windows XP or upgrade to Windows 7 this year...

you might not be so excited when you see how much they charge you for your nice new laptop.

Intel® HD Graphics :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Looks like I'll be buying my own computer after recognition.

How does buying your own computer work with the Air Force software? Do you just use the issued one whenever you need USAFA stuff, or is there a way to get the software that you need for your new computer?

so how DO we pay for it? do they deduct a certain amount from our monthly pay?

We paid for about $2,000 for the whole set up (computer, extra battery, keyboard, mouse, dock, backpack, HDD). It's part of the initial loan that is deducted from the paycheck each month.

Do not overestimate the power of the 2014 computers. They are quick enough, but so bogged down with preinstalled software that there's really NOTHING to brag about.

It says it has built in videocam and mic for video chat. Can you use that feature freshman year or no? I would be using gmail chat.
