after having a complete file and a nomination, how long would it take for a rejection/acceptance notice to come in?
 
It depends.


Do you have a principal nom? Are you on the National Waiting List? Are you a recruited athlete? The only way to have a good guess is to know your Whole Candidate Score in relation to all other candidates' WCS. Call admissions, they'll be able to answer your question or at least point you in the right direction.
 
Well I just recently took my CFA retest last friday....that was the last part of the application.

But since the application deadline hasn't passed yet, doesn't that mean there are still spots left? I sure hope they haven't reached full capacity yet, I don't even think they saw my application yet :/

appointments will still go out throughout March and April. A few are handed out even in May and June.
 
Congrats to all appointees!

I am thrilled for all of you who got appointments to West Point. I wish you well. Our son went through the whole smash for over a year, was qualified in every way, two nominations, was told he is exactly what West Point looks for even received four medical waivers and was told recently he would not be selected. It was disappointing but he is pursuing an ROTC scholarship and that looks promising. The WP rep said this was an outstanding applicant year and hard choices had to be made. Oh well, life is full of disappointments as well as blessings. I guess we move on.
 
A few appointment offers will be made if special circumstances come up (appointee deciding not to take up offer, or special situations happening to different appointees). But other than that, I think it'll be hard to earn an appointment at this time.
 
My RC told me that around 80% of offers are out right now with about 50% of the class locked up. That was about a 2 weeks ago so most of the offers have already been sent out.
 
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...... Well it's feeling like the TWE is coming soon.... Here's hoping for the best and going to plan B, C, D and possible E.
 
Congrats!!!

Congrats to all that have received appointments! You have achieved a great accomplishment. Unfortunately from what I am reading based on 80% of the class of 2015 now decided, it doesn't look good at this point for my son.
 
Don't panic just yet Sportz01. I was feeling the same way as you until just recently. My DS has received nominations from 3 sources and when I contacted each of those sources inquiring where we stood in the process. They each told me the same thing - "The USMA has yet to contact them regarding appointments, it should be happening very soon , and to just hang in there". I believe them - everything they have told me thus far has been right on! I am aware that some states may be further along in the process, but there are some states whose Congressmen & Senators have waited till the very end to submit their nominations. The application process is now over (2/28), from what I have heard, and read, March is going to be one crazy month! Good luck to all! :thumb:
