oh and ds is also still waiting on cornell -its the last school he hasnt heard from - was accepted everywhere else - wants to have all 'wins' under his belt even though he is going to the academy.

Hey Supergirl: Great idea for the folks who get appointments. A meet and greet at the academy would be wonderful for all those who get in and met on this thread.
 
I'm tired of mailbox stalking! Its an academy candidate's version of March Madness! Sometimes I think this waiting will never end. Can you tell its been a long week? I'll stop whining now and wake up tomorrow ever hopeful for my son!
 
I'm a 4-day school week and a spring break away from April and hopefully the notifications!

It's so crazy for candidates right now, just in case parents ever wonder. Go easy on them, I get a little snappy about colleges. But mostly throughout the day is a rollercoaster of confidence when the Academy comes to mind. For example, Psychology class: take personality test "I'm an extrovert and I work well with others. This seems accurate, I feel like I'm an effective leader in and out of school. Come to think of it, I have a lot of leadership listed on my application. The teachers that wrote recommendations probably said so too! Maybe I WILL get in!" two classes later: "My application is so weak because I didn't do any sports. I'll never get in. WHY didn't my parents make me do a sport in high school?!"

I also go through wondering how I'll react if I see an acceptance. Then other times wondering how I'll react to a TWE.

Crazy times, I hope I can push all of this out of my head over break.
 
I found out I was accepted today! My congressman's representative came to my school to tell me in person! I have never had such a good day at school!! Yay :)

I cannot imagine a better way to let someone know they have been appointed. Congrats!

I agree! And thank you so much! I haven't stopped smiling all day! Also, I don't know if this is completely true, but the representative said that my BFE mailing is on the 25th of March. I sort of wonder if that is when they will be mailing out a majority of them.

That is the date I heard from a diversity recruiter "you should know by the 25th". Not sure what that means for my DS, but...fingers crossed.
 
Hey Yall,

Been enjoying lurking this thread for awhile while waiting for DS BFE (hopefully) too. Thought I would share my 2 cents. Located in the midde of the Pacific on a 3 mile island (Kwajalein) where mail arrives only twice a week, by plane of course. Mail typically takes 2 weeks longer to arrive than your CONUS mail. So while you all get to stalk the mailperson 6 days a week we have to stalk the mail plane, but only get to do it twice a week. Just thought I'd share our unique stalking experience. Good luck to all of you and have a patient weekend. Cheers!

Congrats to you, Katamonk! DS stayed home today w/ sore throat.....I sure hope our MOC was not lurking around the high school searching for him! Ahhhhh!!!!! wink :)
 
To all stalkers....It's starting to happen. My son received a call from Dave Camp's office (4th district, Michigan). The BFE is on it's way!

so today will be the last stalking day of the wk...have to wait until 1:00pm for the mail woman...but at least today is saturday... I'm home and can stalk the mail box before my husband :yllol:

I've been a Mailbox Stalkers Club stalker for a week or so. Waiting for word, either yea or nay, hoping for the YEA, of course! My stats were good, not great, so it won't be a surprise either way, I guess. Good luck to everybody!

That's how a lot of us feel. My application is pretty good at a glance until you see that I never did any sports in High School :eek:
So i'm fairly worried about the 20% physical part of my application, since I also came out with very average CFA scores. Non of this will matter if I get an appointment though. And if not, I'll just try again next year and kick butt of the CFA and get A's and B's in college :biggrin:

At this point the candidate pool is left with a lot of the "average" candidates, so we'll see how we compare. Good luck!
 
At this point I'm considering setting up a close-circuit camera in my mailbox so I can access it from school...yeah...extreme...I know... :shake:
 
Well, tomorrow is the start of another wk...and although I have a lot of faith I must confess that I'm getting a little more nervous when I see stalkers moving to the "class of 2015" appointees. I'm thrilled for them...they are probably having spasms in their cheeks due to a lot of smiles and laughing :shake: isn't that great!!!!
But for those left behind it is not easy...but life goes on and thank goodness this is not the end of the world, yet.
I'm just talking out loud...and trying to calm "me" down...so I needed to write...at least DS is still functioning...not sure about his mom :rolleyes:
 
It's even tougher for us American overseas applicants - it takes roughly two weeks for mail posted in the US to arrive over here in Switzerland, so that means additional waiting for the ultimate decision - argh!
 
I don't mean to be nosy...but r u (if u r the parent) in the military?...someone told me that military kids have better chance...have u heard that? Just wondering. My son has a "military family" cel. and gen. but all of them in the Brazilian military...so that doesn't count or help :(
I sure hope u get a BFE soon...perhaps they will send priority mail so u can get faster :)
