Yeah, a few people got calls but there were much more on Monday which would seem to support the board meeting on Friday as congressmen are busy and they would have found out later in the week. But as far as whether they aim to have the letters to the appointees in a week or they change the status in a week I don't know, so I could be way off. Ive been debating all week whether or not a letter can go from Colorado to Maine in three and a half days.

Yes, mom2015hopeful, that is everone's understanding, I think. The questions that are less "answered" are:
1) are TWE's out at all? ANY?
2) How many BFE's will be in the mail NEXT week. Because if you look at the number of appointments that are already "taken", there are not a whole lot of spaces left after the 400 that went out this week. Of course, realizing that not all of those offered will take, but it's going to be a higher percentage than in the past, not lower.
3)I think that after the mailing next week (it will be less than 400), the remaining BFE's will be more of a trickle as ther AFA learns of declines.
4) I called our MOC's office and confirmed that he DOES call appointed candidates. So I was fairly sure that DS did not get the BFE in this group of 400. And if he does not get it in the next one, "outlook not so good". BUT HEY! It ain't over till it's over and besides, I'm having fun being in the stalker club while having all of my conference calls today on "speaker" and "mute".
Hang in there everyone.....all of our kids are awesome and most would rise to the occasion if given an appointment. As PIMA says, "it's timing".
5) You can calll your MOC's office and ask what their procedure is for notifying admitted candidates to the SA's. Then at least you will be able to get a little reality check going on in your head before DS or DD may have to have theirs.
6) I hope I don't sound like Debbie Downer...but the reality is that we are WAY in the home stretch. And we've done it with humor, grace and style. A good example to set for the DDs and DSs watching!

Hi Mom: I think you are exactly right. We should start seeing BFE's by tommorow and throughout next week for this latest round of mailings. So time to put your feet up for the night and see who gets voted off from American Idol...

Son's status: Taking a nap
Husband's status: Trying to take a nap, until I called about the mail
Mom's status: Going to pass time tonight watching Hoarders and then cleaning out a closet or two. Everytime I watch it, I go clean something in the house. I'm so wound up I think I'm going to prune all the yard bushes into Disney shapes. Maybe do the neighbors also.

Everytime I watch it, I glance over at "the closet"...you know the one......
I've also gotten interested in American Pickers. Not so much the pickers or the even the stuff that they pick , but the characters from whom they pick the stuff. Those are some colorful slices of Americana right there!

Checked the mail again today.. no BFE, only a package for my DS that has some guitar parts that he ordered(manilla package). Between NCAA Basketball and American Idol...Maybe I'll be able to relax, fold my clothes and feel like I am doing something productive!

My DS is drying off with the towel he got in summer seminar and I will only drink for the AFA coffee mug I got when my little brother was there. That and happy thoughts should seal the deal, don't you think?

BFE timeline
I wonder if the BFE's were actually mailed on Tuesday or Wednesday. If that were the case wouldn't people already be getting them? One of the other messages from the Facebook thing said to begin watching starting Monday. I would bet they are not shipping until Friday??

I was thinking the same thing. I get mail in a few days from anywhere in the country. I think most people do. On one of the 1,000,000,000 threads that I have read, it was stated that they contact the MOC's and give them a few days to contact the appointees before the mail goes out. Other posters said that they mail the BFE the same day as the MOC gets the notification so that is why some MOCs don't get to ther appointee before the BFE arrives. Honestly, if this whole process has not been figured out by the GENERATIONS who have gone before us, I doubt it's gonna happen on our watch. But I'm going to grab a glass of wine now, just in case we do figure it out. I'll already be celebrating.

Yes,Mike. I have! I've stopped cleaning, cooking and returning any calls that are not from the Honorable Eric Cantor. Do those things qualify as "rituals" or a descent into madness?

MikeR, you asked about rituals. Well I have one. I am wearing a little cross my husband gave me long ago. I hold it every day and ask for something good to happen to someone I know during that day. When I hear good news about ANYTHING, I give it a little kiss and say thank you. I can't explain it, but when stressed I clean and do loads of wash. It touches floor, it goes in wash. (see my previous Hoarders comment). I am on a cleaning frenzy. I think I am going to start P90X exercise program. I want to show up on Parents Weekend looking like my handsome, fit son actually inherited some of my genes (not). In truth, I want to be like Betty White. Sensible, put together, comfortable, wear bright colors, big smile. Oh oh, for those in my world, those words "I love Betty White" just gave away who I am!!!!!

VAMom, since you have stopped cleaning, I'm heading to your place. List of supplies I need: Case of Coke, swifter mop, bleach wipes, windex, vinegar, roast beef hoagies, and some ginger snaps. Can you make an Appletini? Always wanted to try one. PS, son just sent nice email to Congressman asking if they traditionally contact Appointees or not. No news yet.
