Class of 2022 - Commissioning is Friday May 27, 2022

2018 I gave DD1 her first salute and she then re-enlisted me for my last 4 years. We did it on the 50 yard line.

2022 I will be giving DD2 her first salute, location TBD. I will be retiring after serving over 30 years in a few months. Time to go!

Hi @Capt MJ @usnabgo08 @Happy2BaNavyMom and many more old friends…
What an exciting week that was capped by “take shelter in your vehicles”! LOL

I wonder how long it took the Class President to write and rehearse the speech that we never heard.

Never thought I would be COMFORTABLE in my choker for wearing it all day, had a family lunch in DTA, and then got to ask DD2 where she wants to choose for her first salute. She picked T-court, where we did a private swearing in on I day four years ago.

Is there some way that I can get high-quality photos and video from the commissioning ceremony?
I downloaded the stuff from YouTube and WBAL news at 720p (saw my son several times on both) and there were a lot of good high-res photos posted by USNA, but is there another option to get some shots shaking hands with the Prez and walking down the ramp?

Have cash, will buy. :)

Thanks. Got some from that link before. I was just wondering if I was going to get an EMail from Legacy Studios or the like, to offer to take my money for some good close-ups from the stage or immediately beside it.

Thornton is offering downloads pretty cheap. Supposedly each person. But high res, and professionally edited.

Sign up or reach out via his normal site will pm you link.

Hey guys,

I need your advise. I know most of you here military families and my 1st kid is the first serviceman in ours.
But now my other son who didn't make it to service academy, joining marines boot camp. I wanted him to go for Navy or AF. He did 86 on ASVAB(and more likely will do cyber.sec). I'm little worried he can't do it or dangers....
Should he do it or not?

Thanks

I would personally start a new thread about this.

I got the EMail and ordered a CD with all the photos. Excellent quality close-ups from both sides and multiple angles, shaking hands with The Dant and POTUS. It will be a surprise to the new 2nd LT., I'm sure. :)

Which organization are you referring to? There was a new email that went out yesterday…Grad Images I think….but not a bunch of photos. Only two or three.

GradImages it was. The email showed 3 of them. There were seven (7) photos in all, once I followed the link.

I figured we would see the Class President’s speech get out there somehow, despite Mother Nature’s rude interruption.

I’m just now sitting down to watch this amazing speech. I did not manage to keep a dry eye. Thinking of my son commissioning next year and daughter in the throws of plebe summer, meeting grandma on IDay sharing with everyone she is an honorary member of 2022 and realizing the heartaches and triumphs I have been privileged or saddened to watch over the last 3 years, I am humbled by the sacrifices of these men and women. Well done 2022 and thank you.
