I just received an email saying that my file would probably not be academically qualified due to the fact that I have not had trigonometry or precalculus in high school because my school doesn't offer those classes. I have however had a College Algebra class. Has anyone had this same problem.

It’s time to be realistic regarding if you’re qualified for the U.S. service academies. My only advice is to look at the Class of USNA 2024 profile to see if you’re competitive especially in the SAT/ACT portion. My DS took the SAT five times before and during the height of COVID pandemic.

My average ACT is at or above the averages of USMA. That is why I do not understand this disqualification.

I would try to contact them and inform them of it not being provided at school, maybe you could take an accelerated math course on top of your other courses in the next semester.

Being at the average as an entrant from High School means that you are below that of the group (High School - Direct applicants) that you're competing with.

USMA is focused on engineering. Math and Science are very important factors for academic qualification. To my knowledge, Pre-calculus for Math and Physics for Science before high school graduation is preferred, since there is always exception.
Do you know that many of your competitors are taking Calculus? You still have time. Where there's a will, there's a way.
