The Military Bowl is once again clogging traffic in Naptown, but the best part is the Clydesdales who will be hanging out in West Annapolis this AM. They are some glossed-out hunky horses.

Wow. A bucket list visit to Annapolis! They come to our great State Fair every year. They are amazing..to hear and smell them adds to the whole experience.

I would love to watch them “rig up” all that tow gear they are wearing; there must be a certain SOP to the order, tension, adjustments, etc.

I love their hoof feathers.

If you ever get to Busch Gardens Williamsburg a visit to the barn is a must. I have never seen it crowded and up close to those beautiful 2,000 lb animals is amazing. If you are lucky there will be a mother and foal in the paddock area.

Yes! It’s an art form we have enjoyed. The clang of the metal, leather smells. Other smells 🤣. They are simply majestic.

I’m lucky enough to live near one of the Clydesdales training facilities. They are majestic creatures. The Dalmatians are traditionally used in the parades, but the Clydesdales are paired with dogs from a young age, and not always Dalmatians. They become buddies and the dogs live in the stables with them. They are super friendly with all dogs - this is a pic of my neighbor walking her dog past some of the Clydesdale”teenagers”, who ran to the fence to greet a new friend.

My first house after retiring and moving from base housing was just up the road from Fort Hunt Park. The US Park Police have their stables there and my dog would poke his nose through the fence like in the above photo. He would try to get their attention but they would ignore him of course.
