Both. They first look at your college grades in the corresponding courses given during Plebe year. They want to see how well you handle those courses with zero military pressure----they better be really good as you can guess. Next they look at your SAT/ACT scores. If they are high and reflect your grades, all is well. If they stink, the Board asks itself "How come? Can this candidate not take standardized tests? Do they clutch under pressure? Are the supposed good grades in weak classes or bad grading? What's up here? There are problems and why should we risk a $500,000 scholarship with problems?"
