I did see somewhat of a response on the reapplication thread, but it was almost 3 years old. My sons college does not give a + or - in classes, so his 88 in chem and 88 in English turned into a B's on his transcript. He did earn an A in Calc. Is USNA aware of colleges that only give strictly A, B, etc. His overall was a 3.31. I am thinking that is not good enough? Any thoughts from former re applicants? However, his Moc slate was submitted with only 4 names on the nomination list....hoping that will be helpful. He is the only college student on the list. Hoping for second nomination from Senator. His interview was yesterday.

I was a college reapplicant as well and now am part of the Class of '18. I don't believe it will matter, as long as he is taking hard courses similar to the plebe schedule. I believe my final GPA at the end of my spring semester was a 3.20. As long as he's showing the drive, passion and dedication to getting in you're pretty much set.

Thanks. He did take calculus, chem with a lab, english, intro to aerospace, so basically all of the plebe courses. Thanks for the positive energy!

College re-applicant competition is getting more challenging. A candidate should strive for more than just great grades, but also activities/sports, leadership positions (i.e. well rounded). So make sure that this is not overlooked....grades are extremely important, but all else equal, USNA will look to see what else the candidate did to keep themselves busy.
