Compression shorts question

I've read the R-Day threads that recommend bringing several pairs of black compression shorts to help avoid chaffing during Beast.

Are the compression shorts worn only during runs under the gym shorts; or do cadets also wear them under uniforms during field training, long marches, etc.?

Do most cadets use compression shorts in lieu of issue/other underwear?

Thanks in advance for the advice and help.

While I don't know about Beast in particular.....

But during my volleyball tournaments, almost everyone wears compression shorts. Things definitely get sweaty and on long days you could be in the same clothes for more than 8+ hours at times. While you may feel a little "wet", I've never had or heard of problems with rashes/infections.

In my opinion, they're really comfortable and easier to move around in than cotton boxers.

Hope this helps, good luck at beast

basically ive heard it depends on your cadre, you may or may not get to use them at various times. However people who did use them last year said they were lifesavers, so bring some and hope that the cadre is lenient. Im bringing 5+ pairs of various kinds. I know we will at least get to use them on ruck marches, and during pt our shorts will ride up, so make sure they are black. But it is dependent on the firsties this year, hopefully they will greenlight compression shorts for everything
