Computer Preference

For all admitted candidates that have filled out the computer preference section of the candidate kit, would you recommend getting the peripheral package(printer, docking station, etc)or just the computer?

I am faced with the same decision, but I have decided to get it for a couple of reasons.

1. The dock it comes with costs anywhere from $259 to $358, the printer is about $179, and I couldn't find the price of the monitor or the surge suppressor, but the value exceeds the "cost".
2. Its "free", because it comes out of the cadet account, as opposed to the stipend. (I'm not sure if we ever get this money back)
3. I was planning on getting a 2nd monitor anyways, so this takes the hassle out of trying to ship it to West Point.
4. When I visited, I saw cadets that had a printer in their room and it seemed much more convenient than going to the company printers

However, some people would rather use the shared printers, and may not have a use for a monitor/dock.
