Computer Provided?

I think I read somewhere that a computer is provided for students. Now I can't find any information on this. Does anyone have any details on what is or isn't provided?

Class of 2013 and Class of 2014 got a netbook and a desktop. Often mids who room together share a printer. Mids purchase the printers.

Thanks. I am used to using an apple computer. If I get in will I be able to bring my own small laptop after plebe summer to use instead of the windows computer? I am asking this because I don't want to buy a computer for college if I won't be able to use it.

No, not to hook into the DOD network. I imagine you could use your own computer with an air card......But, why would you? You will receive all your email and volumes of information on the USNA network. You cannot "opt out" of purchasing the computer/netbook. All plebes are issued the same gear.
