Computers at USMA

Are we allowed to bring our own personal laptop to USMA but also use both our personal and the issued one? I couldn’t find an up to date thread that answered my questions, just curious!

As a parent, I can tell you that you can bring your own computer/IPad but have to use the issued one for anything WP related. Anything you bring will need to go to IT in order to be set up on the network or you will only be able to get spotty cell service.

You can have personal devices here and use them as you see fit. I currently use my own laptop for classes, and several other students use Ipads to take notes with Apple pens.

The only caveat is, in order to access your Microsoft services on a personal device, it needs to be set up within the Company Portal system. This is a painless process that can be done on your own, without having to go to Goldcoats (IT).
