My son sent an email accepting his wait list position yesterday. We received an "Out of Office Standardized Email Reply" from Ms. Parker, which said, in part:
*If I have offered you a position and you have replied back accepting the open position, please allow me a few days before confirming reciept. I was lucky enough to offer alot of positions off the waitlist and will sort through them all accordingly. You will also receive a confirmation letter in the next few weeks.
She was not out of the office yesterday, but I did talk to her on the phone and she is overwhelmed by emails. We are going to also fax the acceptance today. If we save both the dated email and a dated fax, I think we will be fine if a problem occurs. Probably a good idea to call Pensacola or the unit by the end of the week to see if the unit assignment has changed in their system. Actually, our regional NROTC recruiter in Richmond, VA, whom we called about a different issue, told us today that the unit was not yet changed. So, your regional NROTC recruiter could be another avenue for information, if you know who that person is.
