Congressional Nominations

Hello, I just submitted my PCQ and was looking at my congressional districts site and didn't see anywhere to submit a nomination application. Does anyone know when congressional nomination applications open?

Typically, they will open in the April/May timeframe; however, your MoC's can publish their requirements 'when' they like. I advise my students not to sacrifice quality for promptness, especially this early in the 'new' cycle. Most due dates for the nominations will be in the Sep - Nov timeframe, so you may be 'missing' important items from the late spring and summer that you would want to provide through the applications. A few MoC's encourage early submissions by a few weeks, but a few months is likely way too early. I recommend that you 'hold your fire' until late July or early August. Good luck!

Most MOCs have something on their sites under “Constituent Services” or “Get Help” in the menu.

There should at least be somewhere on the website(s) where dates for applications open. My congressman's opened at the end of May and my Senators' opened mid-March. But as Academician said, wait to submit the nominations until closer to the deadlines, especially considering that you may have things over senior summer that can be game changers for your application, or at the very least really great experiences to write about in your essays.
