Coronavirus?

it seems more and more likely that when mids return from spring break the yard will go on lock down, nobody in or out , non essential employees stay home for a few weeks. not final, but this came from an 0-6 who was in the room when options were being planned.

> I've been through the College visit drill with daughters, but have always felt that USNA (and other Services Academies) was one of those places where a visit shouldn't be necessary -- you either want to attend a Service Academy or you don't , and observing the physical plant and "vibe" is largely irrelevant. (I am biased, the first time I ever saw USNA was was a weekend visit while I was a NAPS; before that, all I had ever seen was the hard copy college catalogue--way before virtual tours and hundreds of YOUTUBE videos online).

This makes sense, and DW is going to be happy to hear --she has always referred to USNA as the "jail school" ; now it truly is. Seriously, for parents of Midshipman, I can honestly say that I can't think of a better place for a college kid to be right now. USNA has a plan, and the resources , to take care of anyone that gets sick. More importantly, there is a sense of comradery and I am sure the Midshipman will stick together and provide mutual support.

Currently a candidate (still CPR) for USNA class of 2024. My high school is near a county that has numerous cases and unfortunately it is possible that after our spring break we will not return to school. We will shift to online classes, to include all extracurriculars cancelled. Currently all events for my school have been cancelled (concerts, plays, senior year events, field trips etc.)

Don’t worry at all….here is quick rundown of a visit to USNA for you. Annapolis is a lovely town, the Yard is gorgeous, all the mids are extremely good-looking and polite, professors are amazing, Bancroft is awesome (well, debatable).

There you go. Now he can accept his appointment!
 
My DS just got informed that the USNA is closing to visitors and will reassess in mid-April. We had a visit planned for next week.

Those poor kids, especially those seniors.

Where I live, there's a couple cases in our county... I hope they don't cancel my last lacrosse season...
 
At the risk of supporting an unsubstantiated rumor, DS said "a reliable source" in his CoC said there is a case on the Yard.
 
Mids were instructed to stay-in-place until further update, scheduled later today. Don’t come back today, tomorrow or Saturday. As in stay where you are until Sunday (and they will be updated by then).

The email says do not return Sunday either.
