As the thread name suggests, this information is for CORTRAMID ----- W E S T

For those of you with Midshipmen DD or DS, or for you Mids yourselves, you should see or hear about the notification for CORTRAMID WEST fairly soon.

My caveat is to follow your unit's advice or direction in any case where the attached seems to deviate from what you have been told.

But, the attached should tell you just about everything you need or want to know about the who, what, when, where, why of CORTRAMID WEST.

For parents, when DD or DS tells you they can't receive mail during CORTRAMID, you can wave this under their nose and say, "then why does it give an address to send things?"

There is also a packing list toward the end. Please look that over. Some units have camel backs that they can issue. If yours does not, I promise you, you will wish you had one. And please be smart and make it a neutral color such as black or dark blue or something that doesn't look like it came from a Ninja Turtles episode.

I highlighted a few things in there that frequently get missed. As an example, if you are flying in, you can use the TSA pre-check if you listed your known traveler number on there. "How do I find my known traveler number you may ask?" READ the attachment 😏

Will CORTRAMID EAST do something like this? I don't know, but probably. I just know my XO is helping with the West version and he's an administrative wizard.....so now you have the information.

Have a great summer out in sunny San Diego! :D

Great info. Thanks for posting. It looks like NROTC-MO 3rd and 2nd class are doing "Marine Month" again. Is that consistent with your information?

I believe it is. There was a general meeting discussing this and ideas were flying right and left. The good Colonels held a separate meeting to synchronize things, and Marine Month was the outcome. Of course, now that I have said this, our Friday meeting could change things. But Marine Month seems to be where we have settled.

That is consistent with what my DS mentioned. He expects to have his assignment in the coming days. Thanks again for your contributions to the forum - invaluable!

Pendleton in May vs Lejeune in July - Navy guys always get the good gigs! :)
