Hello everyone, I'm a senior in high school right now (school starts in 2 weeks) and am wondering if the courses I'm taking this year look impressive enough. My teacher last year from Spanish 3 wanted me to take AP Spanish my senior year, but I've heard that it's really hard from some people, but I've also heard that Spanish 4 is hard for people also. What I'm wondering is would it look a drastically better to take AP Spanish instead of Spanish 4? Here are my senior classes at the moment:

Spanish 4
STEM Engineering (Honors)
AP Lit
AP Government
AP Physics C
AP Calculus BC
Russian 2

There are the classes I took my junior year:
AP Lang
AP US History
AP Calc AB
Russian 1
Spanish 3
Basic Tech Drawing
Physics Honors

So do you guys think that my course load for next year is challenging enough for me in the eyes of the admissions team at West Point?

Here is some extra info about me if it helps:
SAT: 2280
GPA Junior Year: 4.3, Total GPA: 3.948
Letter in outdoor track, letter in indoor track
Some leadership and club stuff (no student body gov, boys state, or eagle scouts though...)
Fluent in Mandarin

Anyways, I've wanted to go to West Point for a really long time, and if you guys can give me any tips regarding my courses or anything else, please let me know. Thanks so much!

That looks pretty rigorous, so I'd say (with my limited knowledge) that as long as your fall semester transcripts show that you are doing well in these classes - you should be fine.

Do you have the necessary history classes already? You aren't taking one this year and didn't last year, that might be a problem if you didn't take the required ones your first 2 years.

hey navygirl, thanks for responding!

and suasponte, I took Pre-AP world history freshman year (honors) and AP world history sophomore year... are AP US History and Ap Government not considered history courses? Thanks for responding!

Your academic course load and transcript are very impressive, as well as your multiple languages. Try to become president of a club or something this year or see of you can do more volunteering. That's probably the only thing I see you're missing. Good luck.

World History and US History are good.... if you look at the naval Academy admissions website you will see the course of required classes ... and it looks like you have both the history courses that you will need. Government is not considered a history course, but something required of every student in the US .

Best of luck ! You look like you are in good shape!:thumb:

Oops, just realized I told you about the Naval Academy admissions , not West Point admissions website.... Although I think the course of studies in high school is pretty much the same.

Thanks for the advice EagleScout13 and mjm!
I live in a very competitive district and am very eager to see what lies ahead! I'll try to keep everyone updated on what happens!
