I currently go to a college and am transferring to the USCGA and was wondering if my credits transfer over? I feel that it may be pointless to study for my final exams if they don't do me any good at the Academy. Any info on this would be great!

You may have some credits transfer over from what I've heard, but I believe they're typically pretty stingy with validating classes. I know from a lot of things posted on these forums that the Academy doesn't take very well to folks who let things slip at the very end of the year. I definitely would study for final exams.

Do you already have an appointment for Class of 2027? It’s not clear when “am transferring” is happening. If you have an appointment, you should already have read about course validation processes at USCGA. See the info starting on page 8:
You don’t really “transfer” to service academies. Everyone starts as a freshman, takes assessments, and is placed into appropriate course sections or possibly validate completely. You won’t be any closer to graduation than anyone else.

Second the recommendation to finish strong at college. Don’t ease up. You want to have the best grades possible to go with those credits on your transcript. If something - life happens - and you leave USCGA voluntarily or involuntarily, you will want those. Give those exams your best effort and then be done with it.
