DS has been invited by coaches to attend the USNA crew "junior day" next month. Anyone have experience with that? A worthwhile trip?

If he rows/intends to row at Navy, definitely attend. Our son rowed in HS and attended a rowing camp at Navy before his senior year and was so impressed. Navy was attractive to him just based on the strength of their team and the crew facilities. In the end, he chose Army and rowed there, but Navy has the better team.

No experience with Junior Day but can’t see how that trip wouldn’t be worthwhile to a potential rower. Enjoy.

I would absolutely say it is worthwhile. My son went to the recruiting weekend this Fall (and then also attended 3 other Ivy recruiting weekends), and while he was already pre-disposed to like Navy (his brother is there), it was very clear to him after meeting the team and the coaches that the Navy team was completely above the others he visited in all aspects. It 100% sold him on Navy.
