Has anyone had an experience staying at the Crowne Plaza Suffern-Mahwah? Family friend has recommended as family base to visit plebe at West Point. We realize this is way off post and do not plan on bringing DGD there.
 
I have stayed at this Crowne before for an event in Paramus. I was driving in from the North and decided to stay here. Positive experience.
This facility is probably about 40 minutes from West Point. Definitely other lodging closer to West Point. Possibly Newburgh, Woodbury/Harriman areas could be closer and a wide variety of options.
I guess it all depends on where you are coming in from i.e. driving in from the North, East or West. Or possibly even flying into the greater NY metro area and renting a car and going north towards West point.

Mountain Time family may be flying in Plebe Parent Weekend, and I will pass your information on re properties for when they fly in. Thank you. As for my crew, we will be driving in from west of West Point.
