Greetings all, I am a current Doolie at USAFA and I am willing to answer any questions anyone may have about day to day life here. Feel free to reach out via PM so we can connect or post a reply to this post and I'll answer questions as I have time. I can answer some questions about the admissions process but I feel that the admissions office/ALOs are better suited for that, plus it seems that every admissions question imaginable has already been answered on this forum!

Quick question - DS is attending the Falcon Visitation Experience next month. Over on the naval academy forum those attending the official visit were encouraged to "bring snacks for the mids". Is this something that would be received well by cadets at the USAFA by the kids attending the official visit there next month? If so, what would be a preferred snack you think (that he can carry onto the plane and bring with him)?

All cadets love snacks! Anything that is like a dessert would be more than welcomed by all. For example, cosmic brownies, zebra cakes, oreos, etc.

What is/are the best moment(s) you've had so far at the Academy and why did you choose to go?

Well he's in the air and on his way. He's got oreos and pringles in his carry on. Hope he has a great time and stays warm! We stopped at WalMart on our way to the airport for some fleece spandex pants to wear under his jeans for the football game and a water bottle to stay hydrated.

I’m sure he will receive a nice water bottle;) we have one per academy.

Maybe, but it was not listed as something he will receive and we didn't want to assume, ya know? He did get one at the Naval Academy during NASS.

I decided to come here because I felt that it would give me the best opportunities and most challenges of any of the academies/ROTC options. I am 100% sure that I made the right decision and I am so glad that I'm here every day. Some of my best memories so far have been going through the Assault Course with the Commandant, meeting so many awesome people, the frequent flyovers, getting to find so many different activities that aren't available at most other schools.

I hope he enjoyed the game! Feel free to PM me if he has any questions now that he has visited campus and had a glimpse of cadet life.

How were your academics in high school & how are you faring now? Also, do you get any sleep? That would be my greatest worry!
