I got an email invitation to both recently. From what I understand, both are short trips where students will get to shadow midshipmen and understand what life is like at USNA. What is the main difference and how would this compare to NASS?

Great programs! Glad you are applying. Here are some recommendations and a packing list I provide to my students heading to Inspire and/or CVW . . .
1. Bring homework (or SAT prep) so you don’t annoy your Plebe when s/he has to study.
2. Dress so you don’t stand out. No logos or bright colors. Khakis & collar shirt for arrival and class. Good walking shoes to walk quickly from place to place. Avoid NAVY gear! (as it attracts unwanted upperclassmen comments, etc.)
3. Be prepared - pack gym clothes, swimsuit, layers for weather and varying indoor/outdoor temps.
4. Bring a good attitude, have fun, ask (good) questions and make a good impression (but don't try too hard) ... you might bring some cool snacks to share with your hosts and other Plebes
5. Don't be offended by any nicknames, as the mids will refer to you as "a drag" or "their drag" or similar.
6. TRAFFIC is ugly around USNA so anticipate issues arriving on time and plan accordingly!
7. Pack light . . . Avoid bringing a large suitcase as lugging it up the stairs of Bancroft is a pain. Use a backpack that is easy to carry. Here's a suggest list of items to bring:
- One khaki pants (or similar) for arrival and class wear
- One collared shirt (or similar blouse) for arrival and class wear
- One cotton T-shirt for when you get tired of the collared shirt
- Two pairs of shorts, one for exercise, one for sleepwear
- Two dry fit T-shirts, one for exercise, one for sleepwear
- Three pairs of socks and underwear, just in case
- A sweater or sweatshirt, and wear a jacket for layers
- One pair of running/tennis shoes
- One pair of Crocs/sandals for room and shower wear
. . . For bedding, just bring one small bedsheet and a small sleeping bag. You will sleep on cots. You can do without a pillow for two nights.

I hope you get to go -- and have fun!

Thank you very much!
1. Do you know if students get a chance to do the Candidate Fitness Assessment at Inspire? I know it is on the schedule for CVW, but I wasn't sure how similar Inspire's curriculum is to CVW.
2. Also, from your experience, are there different sessions of Inspire that I could potentially switch to? The dates that I was invited overlap with my school and sports game.

I did Inspire and yes there is a CFA test. There are different sessions, but each has their own application process. You could reach out and try.

Yes, definitely plan on taking the CFA. You do not have to 'accept' the score, but it is ideal to score well on the test giving you one less 'thing' to do for your application. :)

The email had said that program selections would be made on March 22nd, has anyone heard back from them?

I still haven't gotten any email about wether I was accepted or rejected. I submitted the moment I got the email about the inspire program. Does this mean something?

This is pretty time-sensitive so I assume no email at this point means rejection. I think there are other sessions later on... maybe next year.

Question: Can you go as a high school senior?

From what I've read, it seems like rejection isn't a bad thing but acceptance is a really good thing. Good luck to those going to this session!

Seems like it. It’s also way outside of office hours for admissions… oh well, we’ll see when the email comes. Good luck to all who are attending!

DS is a HS junior. Will they have them do a CFA at Inspire that would count for 2025 applicants?
