My son's status on the DODMerb website changed today. We have not received a letter yet.

R250.10 Pending waiver review by USNA
D172.40 Absence of one or both testicles Disqualified

From what I've read, the academy will review the waiver and do one of three things:
Request additional medical info.
Grant the waiver.
Deny the waiver.

I would like to hear from anyone who has had this specific med code and what the outcome was. I believe he is a highly qualified candidate (4.0, 30 on ACT, athletic, etc.)

Thank you in advance, Lisa

I don't see why they would not waiver this.. Are both of his testicles missing?

Not to make light of anyone's medical condition but I think there are many, many male members of congress that suffer from this condition as well. ;)

He had one that wasn't descended so it was removed.
My son had the exact same DQ and diagnosis, just last year. I was able to get the medical records from Children's hospital from 1998, when his undescended was removed, to send in with the remedial. It took a long time, because he had a migraine DQ as well, but he was cleared, medically qualified in July. He also got a letter from a personal trainer he had worked with for many years from middle to high school, stating he had never had pain or any problems with weight lifting or squatting. The reason for this DQ has nothing to do with reproduction, it has to do with strength of the abdominal cavity. Start gathering all records you can and believe this can become qualified!
