That has been our "go to" for that past year. Perfect distance for A Day. The outlet mall is very close by with both shopping and food. My DS didnt want to walk around and go shopping of course, but we did hit his favorite Jersey Mikes Subs several times. The Target, Walmart, Office Depot are very close and conveniently located.
 
It is where I stay when the Thayer is not available or if the Thayer requires 2 nights--like for R-Day and I only need one night.

We stayed at Bear Mountain for R-day, and an Airbnb for A day. It was nice to be away from West Point. Stayed at Woodbury Commons Hampton Inn another time, it checks all the boxes and is an easy 10 min drive. Have stayed at the Thayer while visiting, too. Do NOT stress about R-accommodations :) you don’t need to stay right in Highland Falls, honestly there isn’t much there besides West Point. Good luck to your family!
 
Any idea how long it's currently taking from the time appointment offer appears in the portal to receipt of BFE?

For A-Day, we got a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express right off base. Not sure if they have any rooms still though

MOC contacted us last Tuesday, portal updated that Thursday night. Feels like a month has passed already waiting for the BFE to show lol, but nothing as of today.

MOC contacted me on Tuesday and my portal also updated on Thursday night. My BFE arrived in the mail today so hopefully it wont be too much longer of a wait for you. Definitely should be arriving soon.
 
We are at Day 12 since he got word and Day 10 since it was posted in the portal, but still no BFE. Wonder if region or state matter?

We're next door from WP in NJ so I figured it would come sooner than later. Silly me....
 
How do the BFE come? USPS, Fed Ex, other? If it's USPS, I'm starting to wonder about mis-delivery, lost in the mail, etc. We're at Day 13 (word) /10 (portal) now. . . .

This form is from DoD so it may also be the same form for other SA (Air Force and Navy)

Here is what we don't know

2 DoD ID Number
3. Branch of Service: US Army ?
4 Unit of Assignment West Point ?
5 Unit Address 606 Thayer Rd, West Point, NY 10996 ?

I have the same question when I saw this and was hoping someone had an answer. I assumed in time as the other packets come it would state more about this for us.

Following bc I came across the same thing today.
 
Some forms will need to fill social security number (almost all them) and then email to West Point.

Why not to use Candidate Number instead if it is for identification purpose. What is the purpose to have SSN on vision and immunization forms ? Bureaucrats !
 
Anyone also know on the State of Legal Residence Certificate if they will be residents of NY State or their home state?

Also, are they considered Active Duty regarding the Cadet Finance Coversheet we have to fill out? I don't see any other option that would match aside from USMAPS but obviously they aren't the prep school. I don't want to fill out the wrong info.

You should list your current home address as your state of legal residence. The Academy will not be listed as your home of record. Your home of record should be your state of legal residence.
