Is the Debutant’s Ball still a thing in NYC over Christmas break? Used to be each Deb had a Cadet or Mid escort that carried their state or country flag.

Is the Debutant’s Ball still a thing in NYC over Christmas break? Used to be each Deb had a Cadet or Mid escort that carried their state or country flag.

I did this a couple of times when I was a mid and had a good time - not so much at the ball itself as the debs themselves mostly had boyfriends but we stayed in NYC and did some fun (not to be repeated here) stuff.

Great memories. I attended in 1989....It was hell keeping all the West Point cadets away from my girlfriend.

Never heard of this while a cadet. By a quick google search it doesn't appear to be something the Academy would support.

We stayed at soldiers, sailors and airmen in NYC for $5 per night. Just googled it and it’s out of business. Went twice in the 80’s. It was a good time.

That is tragic. That place helped myself as a cadet with limited financial backing to enjoy the sights and scenes of NYC in a affordable manner.

Kind of recent. I don’t think it survived COVID.
