Deferred means that when the USCGA Admissions Board evaluated your packet, they found you qualified and a good candidate. They did not rank you as high as those that they already offered appointments to from EA, but they ranked you higher than those that they have already given a denial to. USCGA does not want to give all appointments to those in the early admissions group, so they defer some to compare them against the applicants in the regular admissions group. So now you are competing against all the other deferred applicants from EA and the regular admissions pool applicants. I do not believe that USCGA has publicly shared the numbers this year.
While you wait, I believe that you can still submit any improvements to your packet. I know for sure that you can do that as an applicant before your packet is evaluated. I do not know for sure about deferred, but it can't hurt to send in 1st semester transcripts, any improved tests scores, if you were selected as a team captain, if you earned some other significant recognition, etc... I would also continue to contact your AO to let them know you are still very much interested. If you have been talking with the coach for your sport, let them know you are still interested and give them any updates on your stats. Good luck.
