Son had his physical and eye exams November 9. Status still shows as "Awaiting Receipt of Initial Medical Exam." Is this normal, or is it abnormally long?

That is on the long side. It suggests that they are still waiting for your physician and/or eye exams. I would suggest calling and following up if you have completed both exams.

Calling whom, though? The providers? Concorde? DODMERB?

You should have a technician assigned to you. I don’t recall where to find that number but maybe in an email? Contact “Your assigned technician at xxxx” is what I recall. My son did need to call so this is what I’m remembering. Someone will hopefully chime in but look around for an instruction type email/link.

The contract docs (physical exam and eye exam) must submit the results to DODMERB within 10 days of the appointment.

It’s very possible the QA/QC nurse at CivTeam (replaced Concorde in name only) saw an error and kicked back to the examining doc for correction. Maybe CivTeam hasn’t gotten it back yet to give to DODMERB.

My recommendation is to call someone at CivTeam to check on the status.

Mine took about 3 weeks if I recall correctly. I called Concentra to ensure they sent the exam and they ended up sending it again after the 2nd week. Never hurts to call (concentra or DoDMERB), they will be extremely helpful most of the time.

For reference for others I had the same issue. My DODMETS status displayed COMPLETE-HOLD and i just called the number on the DODMETS website and the lady in 1 minute pulled up my profile and told me the exact issue. My physical forgot to answer a question and I asked if I had to do anything and the lady on the phone informed me no, the person who conducted the physical already called that day and is faxing it over again. Very easy and informative and the lady even told me exact times everything happened!

I grew tired of waiting so I called on Monday and found out the issue was the Doctor didn't have my Father sign a page. He drove up to the location this morning to sign it. Frustrating, because I know I need a waiver for a previous shoulder surgery and this will set me back about 4 weeks in that process.

My son's status finally updated and is back on track. Took 3.5 weeks from physical, through DODMETS screen for completeness, to DODMERB "under review."
