How much of a disadvantage are you at if you don't do the summer program at VMI in July?

Steve: I think that it is an advantage- it gives you one less class you have to take in your first semester and you get to know a fair number of your Rat classmates and get some directed PT time to focus on what are generally the most common PT shortcomings- Running and upper body.
Having said that - at least 40% of the incoming Rats don't go so it's not fatal. If you are already in good shape especially running and Pullups you don't have to have someone else help you peak in PT, and if you are very disciplined student already- 3 more credit hours won't break you. But if you can do so I would strongly urge you to go.
