Hello,

My DD was disqualified for a learning disability. I’m not sure why. She had childhood speech apraxia where she had an IEP until about third grade. Since then, she has not had any accommodations or IEP’s. It’s my understanding that Learning Disabilities with accommodations after age of 14 are auto DQ, but, she has not had any accommodations and passed the DoDMERB read aloud test with flying colors.

I hope you can get through the technical hurdles. My 8th grader had an ied for speech same period as yours. I will follow this thread closely.

As a speech therapist, review the IEP and see if the goals are "speech " or "language" related. Many times, people say Speech therapy ( for speech sound production) when indeed the child is receiving language therapy ( which probably have more accommodations and needs than a Speech only student with an IEP).
Speech therapy for Apraxia is more intense than traditional speech therapy to correct a few sounds.

Good luck
