DLATS Oxfords vs Bates Durashocks Low-Quarters

Questions for current West Point cadets and/or their parents:

How much of a benefit is there to purchasing Bates Durashocks Low-Quarters as compared to the DLATS Oxfords? Is there a significant difference in comfort, quality, or break-in time?

Not only are the Durashocks 3X the cost (which really is the lesser of my concerns since I will do or purchase any-moral-ethical-authorized-thing I can to best prepare my DS for BEAST & Plebe Year), but there's also an apparent supply shortage for Bates Durashocks (E001112 & E00932). It's really hard to find his size.

Any advice will be appreciated.
 
Bates Durashocks. They have proven to be superior in comfort, quality, and longevity. There are vendors around the internet where they can be found other than the most obvious places to look. I will gladly forward you the names if you PM me.
 
For low quarters get the Durashocks if you can find them, if not, get the DLATS. No one ever failed beast because they had DLATS shoes instead of Bates. Comfort and durability will vary by individual. 2018 wore the same pair of Bates all 4 years and made some field repairs just prior to graduation to wear the shoes that stormed the field at Army/Navy. 2020 is on second or third pair and think may have gotten the second pair before plebe parent weekend. May not seem it now but their shoes aren't that important to them later. Individual mileage varies, both will work.
 
The only issue right now with Bates, is they are not producing Durashocks right now, so the supply is going to run out fast, especially in the more common sizes. Took our DS two weeks ago to get a pair and the distributor actually called Bates while we were there and ordered the next to last pair of Durashocks in his size. If you want the Durashocks, don't wait or they may not be available. The distributor we visited had not heard of any production issues, but called Bates and sure enough they are currently out of production with no date to go back into production. DS tried at least 8 online retailers trying to find Bates Durashocks LQs. All are out of stock in his size/width (13/D) and telling him shoes are discontinued. We contacted Bates and they confirmed they have stopped manufacturing them for the time being. Placed two orders only to be contacted the next day saying - Sorry shoes have been discontinued.

The insole is very cushiony in the DLATS... I bought those. Not sure if this is true but I heard Bates Durashocks are just the DLATS low quarters with the Bates logo on the insole.
 
My son and I can't seem to find the boot memo? The instructions say it is on the portal, but it doesn't seem to be. What are we missing? I'd like to order soon. Thanks!
