Your DD is USCG Scholars? I thought the only thing we do is get them to the Academy for July 17th report day, after that the Academy sends them to their perspective Prep School.

Some families come to the prep school when the scholars show up. This gives them a chance to have a move in day, plus see their cadet after the Indoc period. It's not required, especially for families that have a long way to travel.
At MMI we have a separate reporting in day for Service Academy Prep (SAP). I recommend that if you can only be here for a day or two, to show up for that day. There's inprocessing, a presentation by the President and his staff, and a reception for all the new cadets and their families. This year's SAP check-in will be on 8 August.
