DODMERB and self prep at GMC

My son is applying to GMC for the self prep program after learning that he did not receive an appointment for USCGA. Last week his DODMERB notification arrived and he is medically disqualified. We know that the waiver process is not initiated by the CGA unless they consider him a "highly competitive candidate" (which I assume is when he is offered an appointment). Does GMC have their own separate physical exam requirements? And will this years DODmerb exam/DQ information be valid for next fall/winter when he reapplies to the academy? He has been communicating with the liaison at GMC but we haven't gotten answers to those questions and this forum has always been so responsive and helpful.

I’d be interested to hear what GMC says. Also, follow up to see if he goes right into waiver status with DODMERB.

At MMI we had to have physicals on file so I'm sure GMC would have something similar. I used my dodmerb eval as my physical. There are kids here that weren't dodmerb cleared when they started so I'm assuming GMC would be similar. Your dodmerb is good for two years.
