Hello all, ive seen discussions on this before, I am currently 5’ 7” 170 which is around 5lbs over the standard for my height ( I’m a wrestler and football player who does not have a very large amount of body fat) - will this be a problem for the Merchant Marine Academy, West Point, or Army ROTC? Also on my DODMERB packet it says the urine analysis is not required (literally says it in big letters over the entirety of the section), should I bother trying to drink a gallon so I can be ready to go on demand or is that not necessary? Thanks in advance!

I Mr. Mullen would answer your body fat question better than me.

For the second question, I can tell you that whatever DODMERB tells you to do you should do it. If they say a urine analysis is not required, then it is not required. I took my DODMERB medical two weeks ago and I didn't have to provide a urine sample.

If you're really worried, just don't use the bathroom for a few hours before your exam :)

DoDMERB only gets involved in Ht/Wt DQs if there's a medical reason associated with being outside the margins. If not medical, it is strictly administrative in Admissions. DoDMERB does not perform any lab tests as part of the initial medical exams. :wiggle:
