My son has earned a 4 year ROTC scholarship AROTC!! He just completed the medical physical and some items came up.
1. Cardiac history which we knew would be flagged. History of ASD (2 pin dot holes in the heart), pre ventricular contractions, and abnormal EKG (right bundle branch block. Good news his cardiologist gave him full clearance for active duty at his last visit. No medications and yearly follow up. no symptoms!
2. failed his hearing due to wax build up
3. Eye jerking during testing ( new to us)
We are prepared with cardiology paperwork for the waiver and working on a second opinion to ensure everything is aligned. We also have an ENT appointment to clarify hearing issues (nonissue) We set up an appointment for the eye jerking with his primary to figure out the next step. We have not received a DQ (the physical was only this week) but expecting it and want to have all his paperwork ready to submit once we receive the DQ.
Did we miss anything? Any suggestions for us moving forward?
