DoDMerb Weight Question

I'll be an incoming freshman this fall on a 4-year AROTC scholarship. I'm scheduling my DODmerb appointments tomorrow. For the past couple of months due to gyms not being open, most of my workouts have consisted of running/ACFT-related non-equipment exercises, and I've naturally gained weight in both muscle and body fat (unfortunately maybe too much body fat). When I weighed myself a little under 2 weeks ago, I was at 220 lbs, but I've been on a strict intermittent fasting schedule which has resulted me in losing 10 lbs since my first weigh-in (210.1 lbs currently at 5'9"). Based on this rate, I think I'll meet the height/weight standards by the time I'm measured when I get to school this fall.

My question is, does my current overweight condition disqualify me when I come in to do my DoDMerb physical? Again, I'm pretty darn sure I'll meet the reqs by the time I get to school this fall based on my intermittent fasting routine. Thanks for your time!

NO!:bleh2:
DoDMERB only DQs for overweight is there is a medical comorbidity. If you don't me the Ht/Wt requirements for AROTC, we notify them and the actual Battalion will work with you to get you into standards. You can't be "contracted" until you meet the Ht/Wt standards, which is a sound incentive to get into standards soon.:wiggle:

Sounds good. Should I maybe schedule my DoDMerb physical a little later into July so I'm closer to the Ht/Wt standard?

Probably will be less hassle:wiggle:

how does this work in case of a SA? What if you are couple of lbs more than ht/wt on day of DoDMerb medical.

The same way. If you exceed the Service Ht/Wt standards, we report that to Admissions and they handle the issue from there. DoDMERB will only DQ if there's a comorbidity to excessive/or under Ht/Wt issues:wiggle:

You cant contract unless you are DODMERB qualified. The ROO at the school you are going to is probably pulling his/her hair out waiting on your DODMERB- all our 4 year winners have done the initial appointment and some are qualified and the rest are working on their waivers. Delaying may delay your contracting in the fall. Plus if you can make height/weight you’ll be “that guy”.

How often do you get cadets who don't hear back before the start of the school year? and do you know if the Army Waiver Authority tries to finish 4-year contract waivers before 3-year?

None- because they get it done. And we nag them like a 5 year old wanting a cookie.
some DODMERB results take 1 day, some weeks. All depends. Since i dont know your medical history i cant give you a timeline.
