It states on the candidate portal," We will request an exam for you when you have submitted sufficient material and completed as much of the application as we require and are a competitive candidate." Does that mean after I completed everything on the application and received a nomination that I will be scheduled for an medical exam or does it mean that I have to complete everything needed on the application even without the nomination to get an exam?

each SA has a level of application completion before they spend $ on the exam. USMMA for example was 50%.... so no, you do not need the nom to trigger it
