Does AMI mean I’ll get DQ’d?

DODMERB requested that I send AMI about a UCL injury and surgery. I sent MRI records and the last two appointment notes from my doctor. I had the surgery in 2019 and was fully cleared in mid 2020. Is this a bad sign or am I just overthinking it? I guess they could’ve just straight up DQ’d me so I hope that this is a good sign.

Thanks

I'd say it's good sign they asked for more info vs no comms with you at all.

To answer your thread title, and AMI does not mean a DQ. It stands for ‘additional medical information’. It may ultimately turn into a DQ, or may not. But AMI doesn’t equate to DQ.

Not a bad sign. Many conditions require more specifics to be documented (time since injury, detailed nature of injury, repair if any, etc.) and AMI simply is a request for that information to document a condition or injury to determine if you are qualified. Don’t try to read too much into it. Just provide any requested information, in full, as quickly as possible to streamline you determination. A great deal more folks are DQ‘d and waivered than you might think. Even if you get a DQ, it I’d not the end of the line but the beginning of a possible waiver and any AMI will help speed the process.

No, it sure doesn’t. My son has an AMI, got it cleared after sending int th records, them for another, AMI, got that cleared and then a third one. He was eventually fully qualified. They are understandably thorough and want all information that you are healed and fully qualities from what I understand.

This is what happed to my cadet too. He went through 3 requests for AMI, and once everything was provided, he got cleared. Having access to his medical records was key to getting it resolved in a fairly timely manner, so we were fortunate that he was treated through the same place for all of the AMI events,

11/14. Email sent to me regarding AMI was 12/6 (7 day turnaround 🤯). All physical exams were finished on 10/27.

Hope this helps.
