I am looking for any advice/insight from anyone who has experience with EoE. My son received an appointment to USAFA early this week, we assumed his medical appeal for EoE was approved, however he was medically disqualified two days later. I know EoE has been waived before and was hoping someone in this same situation could share their experience. Thank you.

I am applying to USNA and USAFA next year and I know that I have EoE. I've been researching the DoDMERB process as much as possible, and from what I know is that EoE is going to DQ you. If your son has already received an appointment (by the way congratulations) there is no doubt USAFA will put a waiver request in for him. They'll want to see paperwork proving that the condition is asymptomatic. I'm not an expert, so everything I say is just from reading on the internet experience. On another note, please keep me or this thread updated with your son's journey because I will be attempting the same exact thing... EoE sucks.

Thank you for the reply. Best of luck to you. My oldest is at USNA and he loves it. I recommend reaching out to Mr. Mullen as you get closer. You can find his information on the forum. He has been very helpful to my son.

Boys4me = Answered your son today. USAFA and the Congressional office are aware of your son's issue. It isn't a DoMERB issue, but my understanding is they will be contacting him early next week:wiggle:
