My Navy recruiter told me being in the DEP program will help your chances of getting a scholarship.
Except, what he meant by help is ....
If someone has the same exact score and me and this other person are neck and neck like I have a personal score of 70 and he has a personal score of 70 and we are just tied in score basically, the Academy or ROTC would rather prefer me (not choose me) instead of the guy or girl who is not in the DEP.
Is that true? I know being in the DEP will definitely not help your chances by a margin, but I am talking about the situation above. I really don't mind being the DEP because if I don't get a scholarship ROTC or Academies, then I'll enlist which is great because the Navy recruiter can offer me the job I want.
