Does USCGA know if you are applying to other service academies?

I can not recall if there was a spot on the application that asked if you are applying to other service academies. Does anyone remember? My DD is not. The only SA she wants to attend is USCGA. Looking at past posts it seems that this might be looked at in a positive light by the candidate review board. Should DD contact admissions and see if this note can be added to her file? Maybe @Objee could chime in if he sees this? Thanks for your input.

There is not a checkbox or dropdown selection on the application to indicate that CGA is the only service academy you are currently applying to, but it does ask if you have previously applied to another SA prior to this year. If you didn't mention it in any of the personal statements, you could include it in an email to your AO (I'm sure he/she could add it to the applicant's file if it's deemed significant). I think that it's much better to keep in contact with your region's AO rather than someone from the general admissions office.

Thanks so much!!! Looking back at the app we never saw a spot to include which SA’s you are applying to this year. DD will send an email to her AO and then cc someone else from admissions. Unfortunately, DD has emailed her AO about 4 times since July. (this will be the 5th email, I think). She has never had a response from the AO. I am sure they get flooded with emails and are very busy.

Unless the applicant voluntarily discloses the fact that they are (or are not) applying to another service academy within their application/interview, we do not ask that question. It's completely up to each applicant to decide what (if any) extra/optional information they want in their record, but whether or not they're only applying to CGA or all five service academies will not significantly impact their review.
