The title is pretty self explanatory.

Would it be too overwhelming to major in Applied Mathematics & Economics?

You’ll know if it is overwhelming for you or not, once you enter the academic year. You’ll have an academic adviser. You’ll have to see how you do in core curriculum work, learn about all the majors, explore what kind of schedule that would mean for you, and whether you think you can perform satisfactorily in all graded areas of cadet life while pursuing this goal. There is plenty of time to figure it out.

I am currently an Applied Math and Meteorology double major as well as an intercollegiate athlete. Your academic advisors will work with you to build your schedule. I even know some people who are triple majors. It's very possible to have a successful cadet career with more than one major.

It depends on what your commitments and time allotment is. Like the comments above, there are several things that will help you determine your major and course load. I'm currently a biology major with a language minor, and along with being pre-med I'm balancing fairly well. You can reach out directly if you wanna ask questions.
