My DS just received an acceptance letter that he was accepted at one of his academy choices, but when we checked online DoDMERB DQ’d him due to him receiving counseling at 13 while I was going through a divorce. He managed to do well, joined the wrestling team as another outlet and varsity lettered all 4 years of high school. He has thrived as an individual and had straight A’s throughout his whole high school career even taking AP and college courses. I’m hoping he will get a waiver and that one incident, which he never needed medication for and never had issues before or after effects him from pursuing his aspirations.

I also have a DQ for adjustment disorder from age 12. counseling for some family stuff. Nice to see someone in the same boat, but not fun for sure. rooting for your DS!
