My DS was DQd for visual acuity >20/400, which really shocked me. He does wear contacts but has a pretty modest correction. I called his regular eye doctor to ask if that could be a correct outcome and she said she couldn't imagine that the military exam was correct as her results showed something very different. It was time for his annual exam anyway so I took him in yesterday. The results were vastly different. RT 20/250 LT 20/100 nowhere close to >20/400. Is there a way to have a DQ reversed. I tried to speak with the doctor who gave him the DoDMERB exam, but he said he couldn't do anything about his diagnosis and had a list of excuses for why his results could have been so different... my sons eyes could have been dry, or tired, difference results for different times of the day, etc... My DS has read the waiver process and it is understood, but in this case I don't believe he should have ever been DQ'd . If there a remedy for this?
